Aeria Skin Intensive Hydrating Masks

Sheet masks are my new skincare obsession!  They are capable of providing maximum hydration with minimal time and effort.  However, to be brutally honest I have had difficulties in the past with application.

A reoccurring theme/problem is their size, which are more often than not way too big for my face and rather than hug my skin and contours,  just simply hang off.

So you can imagine my excitement and surprise when the Aeria mask adhered snugly to my face; no excess bits of material waving in the breeze......... Yay, at last!!!

The material is 100% organic cotton; the consistency is fine but more importantly, resilient.  Aeria masks incorporate certified organic, natural and active ingredients, hence making them suitable for even the most sensitive of skins.  Upon application the most notable sensation was just how cooling and soothing they are.  The cotton mask is generously infused with a delicate hydrating serum, which contains...

I wanted to post something a little different today, so rather than a review I thought that perhaps I'd show you today's budget mammoth face mask routine!  There's nothing quite as satisfying as 'bagging' yourself a good skin care bargain.  My first port of call is always TK Maxx; their sheet mask selection is vast.  I'm yet to find anywhere else that stocks such a variety of masks for different skin needs.

My routine:

Applied Bravura London 2% Salicylic Acid to a clean face, washed off after 15 minutes.  £9.59!  Check out their website (www.bravuralondon.com), it's so informative and their prices are fantastic.

Applied L'Oréal Purity Mask and left on until it completely dried.  This mask 'sets' so it is a little tricky to remove but its well worth the effort.  £7.92 from Morrisons.

Applied Too Cool For School Egg Cream sheet mask.  I often leave sheet masks on longer than directed, just to allow my skin to absorb as much goodness as possible.  £2.99 from     TK Maxx....

Apothaka rejuvenating face oil for normal - combination skin

It won't come as a big surprise to those that have read my previous blogs that my love for face oils has been a long and illustrious affair.  Their natural affinity with the skin and balancing properties have always kept me coming back for more.  I've used several different face oils over the past few years; each with their own unique benefits and textures.

My preference is an oil that is light, easily absorbed and that balances my temperamental skin.

It took me decades to truly understand the benefits of using an oil on an already oily skin!

I was always too frightened to experiment; thinking it would only exacerbate my existing problems (Oh, how wrong was I).  I finally took the plunge and have never looked back.

The Apothaka face oil for normal - combination skin is an exquisitely hand blended plant oil that has a low comedogenic rating; something that I find very reassuring.  There's nothing worse than app...

Eye creams! .........Umm a point of contention for me!! Unfortunately I'm always left disappointed by them with their apparent ability to tackle all types of issues: lines, puffiness, dark circles etc.

My main concern is hydration and I've always believed this to be the ultimate key to a good conditioned skin. To the point where I've become a tad obsessed with skin hydration!! Lines are inevitable, especially around the delicate eye area and even more so if you're a smiler! (I'm a smiler). I'm probably in the minority when I say I like to see smile lines, particularly when they're in good condition.
My personal eye cream goal is to find one that intensely hydrates without causing puffiness or milia. No easy feat!!! I have a particular dislike for the silicon type creams/serums that claim to blur lines. To give them credit, I do think they blur to some extent but I want a cream that tackles my issues, not disguises them!

Yep I'm very hard to please.
I recently entered a competition to...

Kat Burki Rose Hip Revitalising Serum:

I was recently given the opportunity to try this beautiful serum from the Kat Burki skincare range; a brand that I’ve admired for some time now.  You can imagine how excited I was receiving this through the post!  This  serum contains a potent anti-oxidant that offers protection from external aggressors/free radicals and a stable form of vitamin C which brightens, strengthens and repairs past damage.

Just when I thought I couldn’t improve on my current ‘perfect’ skincare regime, this little gem arrives!   The bottle itself is aesthetically pleasing; with its classic glass packaging in green and silver.  Now, I realise this isn’t the most important aspect of a luxury anti-ageing skincare product but its certainly a good place to start.

This prestigious serum has the most heavenly texture; so light and super absorbent.  When warmed between the hands it transforms into a milky, light but intensely hydrating serum, with the ability...

AD Skin Synergy nourishing night treatment oil is a beautifully blended facial oil which incorporates a variety of fragrant organic ingredients.  It has a delicate subtle aroma which immediately relaxes the senses; I couldn't help but inhale this before application (even my husband commented on the fragrance!).  The texture is just heavenly, it has such a natural affinity with the skin, so fine and easily absorbed.

It may seem a little premature writing about a product after just 2 days of use but I saw immediate results on my delicate dehydrated skin, especially on my neck and décolletage. There was a definite marked improvement on the texture and any fine lines were softened.  My skin generally felt plump and dewy - something I think we're all after.  Application couldn't be easier,  just add 2-3 pumps (more if your skin is dryer) into the palm of your hands, warm together, inhale and massage onto the skin.  No other products are needed; just allow this decadent oil to abso...

Alpha-H Balancing Moisturiser/Gentle Exfoliant and Decleor Hydra Floral Light cream are my two Star skincare products.  My love for these two are so much so that if I ever struggled to afford them in the future I'd restrain from buying chocolate and prosecco! (If you knew me well you'd realise how serious this statement is!).  Its taken me many years to find the perfect skincare system to get my skin under control and I now know from experience that many other moisturisers can wreak havoc with my skin!

A vast majority of face creams are too heavy, comedogenic, stimulating, or generally not suitable for my skin needs and for this reason I very rarely experiment with different moisturisers.  I do however use a variety of treatments, oils and serums to amplify my skin care routine.

The Alpha-H moisturiser has a beautiful light/fresh texture and is fast absorbing.  Most significantly is that it contains 10% Glycolic acid, this may seem like a high percentage when applied to th...

Anti ageing skincare is a vast and complicated category as there are many aspects to ageing.  Problems ranging from fine lines, deep wrinkles, pigmentation, slackened skin, loss of radiance, rough texture and thinning skin.  Whoah!! what a truly depressing list!  There are no miracle potions that can transform you into your younger self but there are ingredients out there that can make a marked difference.

A well conditioned line and wrinkle has a much more desirable look than that of a dehydrated neglected wrinkle.  Lines are inevitable (nothing wrong with them) with age but they can be softened by using the correct products.  Hydration alone is a critical factor to fend off existing and future skin issues; a lack of water in the skin can exacerbate many ageing conditions so it is vital to keep the hydration levels to a maximum.

Slackened skin is notoriously difficult to treat but there are many tightening serum and creams on the market to target those troublesome ar...

ALPHA-H MICRO CLEANSE SUPER SCRUB with 12% Glycolic acid and peppermint:

This reviving manual exfoliant is now an integral part of my skincare routine; with its transformative ingredients of Jojoba beads, 12% Glycolic and Caffeine it works wonders on my sometimes lacklustre skin.

Micro Cleanse has recently been tweaked to replace the Polyethylene (plastic) beads to eco-friendly Jojoba beads. Caffeine, with its antioxidant and soothing properties has also be added. As a result the above ingredients work in synergy to slough away dead unwanted dull skin cells, de-clog pores, work on pigmentation, soften the appearance of fine lines and revitalise.

That's some list for one product!

But, in my experience it really does work on these targeted problems, perhaps not overnight but over a period of time. I've noticed a significant reduction in the pigmentation on my neck; this result alone would have prompted me to repurchase. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to state that Micro Cleanse is 1 of 3...
